Many were surprised when undrafted rookie Kevin Jobity Jr. made the 53-man roster with the Pittsburgh Steelers, but thanks to Brian Batko of Steelers.com, we now know of Jobity's humble experience.
“I was at the movie theater just trying to take my mind off of everything," Jobity said via the Steelers website. "I saw [Young's] text and ran out of there in three seconds.”
Jobity added that his mindset before joining the Steelers was that he was going to "make the team" wherever he ended up. His confidence paid off in a huge way, as the undrafted rookie made the 53-man roster over several veterans, including Dean Lowry and Esezi Otomewo.
Playing for Syracuse from 2022 to 2025, Jobity recorded 84 combined tackles, 10 sacks, and 20.5 tackles for loss
in his collegiate career. Some draft boards viewed him as a late-round flyer, but he ultimately went undrafted following the 2026 NFL Draft and signed with the Steelers soon after.
