Following their Week 8 beatdown of the Cleveland Browns, the Pittsburgh Steelers are on the rise in the latest NFL power rankings.
According to CBS Sports' Week 9 power rankings, the Steelers have jumped five spots to finally break into the top 10.
"They are 6-2 as they go to their bye, which has them in first place in their division," CBS Sports' Pete Prisco wrote. "The pass rush and run game have really keyed their fast start."
Through eight games, the Steelers' offense ranks No. 13 in total yards, No. 13 in passing yards, No. 8 in rushing yards, and No. 18 in points scored. Defensively, the Steelers rank No. 13 in total yards allowed, No. 22 in passing yards allowed, No. 4 in rushing yards allowed, No. 1 in sacks, No. 3 (tied) in turnovers forced,
and No. 5 in points allowed.
Unlike previous seasons, the Steelers are finally living up to the hype, as the Aaron Rodgers-led offense is finally beginning to click on all cylinders thanks to the emergence of running back Jaylen Warren out of the backfield, while DC Patrick Graham's defense is terrorizing opposing teams across the league. We at Steelers Wire hope to see Pittsburgh continue to rise in the power rankings in the coming weeks.
