According to ESPN NFL reporter Adam Schefter, Pittsburgh Steelers running back Rico Dowdle is expected to play this week against the Indianapolis Colts but final determination will come in pre-game warmups. Dowdle has missed the last two games with a toe injury.
During Dowdle's absence, veteran Jaylen Warren has excelled. In two games with Dowdle out, Warren has rushed for 220 yards. Warren also pitched in six receptions for 82 yards in that two-game stretch. In the first two games, sharing reps with Dowdle, Warren rushed for only 89 yards. Dowdle rushed for just 37 yards in his two games this season.
Steelers will make final determination in pre-game warmups, but RB Rico Dowdle is unlikely to play Sunday vs. the Colts due to a toe injury that
has him listed as questionable.

Dowdle signed with the Steelers in free agency to replace Kenneth Gainwell who left for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Even if Dowdle plays this week, we expect Warren to remain the feature back in this offense.
