One of the Pittsburgh Steelers' wide receivers received some troubling news via an injury update in preparation for Week 2.
On Thursday's injury report, Steelers wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (foot) was downgraded from a limited participant to did not participate, just three days away from the team's Week 2 matchup against the New England Patriots.

Pittman, who was traded from the Indianapolis Colts to the Steelers in March 2026, dealt with a previous leg injury during training camp. He was able to return to practice a few weeks ago and managed to lead Pittsburgh's offense
in receiving yards in his Week 1 debut with the Black and Gold brand of football.
If Pittman can't upgrade back to at least limited participation in Friday's practice, don't be surprised if the Steelers rule him out for Week 2. DK Metcalf, Roman Wilson, and Germie Bernard will need to step up in a huge way if Pittman is inactive, especially against a Patriots team desperate for its first win of the 2026 season.
