With the headline to finalize the 53-man roster in just a few days, the Cleveland Browns made the decision to cut former third round pick, wide receiver Cedric Tillman per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The move comes as something of a surprise since Tillman has been a starter on Cleveland’s roster since he was drafted in 2023 out of Tennessee. In his three years with the Browns, he played in 39 total games with 71 receptions for 833 yards. Last season, Tillman had the most starts of any season in his career, with 10, and played on 63 percent of the offensive snaps in those games.
Tillman had been listed as a second-string receiver on their unofficial depth chart, with veteran Jerry Jeudy and rookies Denzel Boston and KC Concepcion listed as starters. Concepcion was drafted in the first round, and Boston in the second; both have had excellent training camps, allowing them to move up the roster to become starters and ultimately leading to Tillman’s release.
Someone will most likely pick up Tillman, with several NFL teams lacking depth at wide receiver. Two teams to potentially keep an eye on to pick up a wide receiver, including possibly Tillman, are the Las Vegas Raiders and Miami Dolphins. Miami especially could use the help. While they are in a rebuilding year, they could be willing to take a shot on Tillman, especially since he would be an inexpensive pickup.
