Going into the fourth week of the NFL season, numerous stars around the league popped up on the injury report, including quarterback Lamar Jackson (back) and receiver Zay Flowers (hamstring) with the Baltimore Ravens, cornerback Christian Gonzalez (shoulder) with the New England Patriots, and receiver Justin Jefferson (ankle) with the Minnesota Vikings.
Jefferson is considered day-to-day after his injury against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who lost their starting quarterback, Baker Mayfield, to a dislocated thumb in that game. Tampa Bay will be starting undrafted rookie Jalon Daniels in their matchup against the Green Bay Packers.
For Thursday night's game between the Cleveland Browns and the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Steelers ruled out running back
Rico Dowdle (toe) and cornerback Joey Porter Jr. (back), who has not played this season. They subsequently traded Porter to the Dallas Cowboys, so it is unclear when he will make his debut in Dallas. Cleveland is without multiple offensive linemen due to injuries.
The Buffalo Bills had an injury scare, with quarterback Josh Allen rumored to be injured. However, he was not listed on the injury report. Instead, his top deep ball threat, DJ Moore (shoulder), was on the injury report again this week. Buffalo will be playing the Patriots, who put their starting quarterback, Drake Maye (right shoulder), on the injury report despite practicing in full.
In the first London game of the year between the Indianapolis Colts and the Washington Commanders, Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels has a chance to play after being limited in practice with an elbow injury. For the Colts, star running back Jonathan Taylor appeared on the injury report after being limited in practice, though his injury was not specified.
As the Detroit Lions prepare to take on the Carolina Panthers in primetime, they have a relatively clean bill of health, with few players on the injury report Wednesday. The Panthers cannot say the same, with quarterback Bryce Young on the injury report, although he was able to practice in full. Two of his receivers, Jalen Coker (quadriceps) and Xavier Legette (knee), could not practice.
