The weather conditions in Tampa Bay were pretty rough as the Buccaneers took on the Atlanta Falcons. However, that doesn't usually mean the passing game is nonexistent.
But that is exactly what it meant for the Buccaneers in their 16-0 win over the Falcons. Tampa Bay quarterback Baker Mayfield attempted only three passes, and he never completed any. For Mayfield, this is his fewest pass attempts in a game and his first game without a completion. Furthermore, this also made the Buccaneers the first team since 1974 to win a game without completing a pass.

They are the first NFL team since the 1974 Buffalo Bills to win a game without completing a pass.
Instead, they won this game with defense
and the run game. They shut out Atlanta for just the second time in series history. Tampa Bay’s only other shutout against the Falcons was in 2004. Their run game was also explosive with 56 rushing attempts, 324 yards, and a touchdown. Their kicker, Chase McLaughlin, also made all three field-goal attempts.
With the win, Tampa Bay is now 3-5. Three teams now have three wins in the NFC South. The Carolina Panthers lead at 3-4, while the Buccaneers and Falcons are both 3-5. The New Orleans Saints are 2-5 and on bye this week.
