Despite the significant hype around Odell Beckham Jr.'s return to the New York Giants this year, the experiment has amounted to very little for both parties. Now, it is officially coming to an end.
Beckham Jr. is reportedly being released by the Giants just three games into his return to the franchise. He played just 19 snaps over the course of three games for the franchise and did not record a single reception.

The move apparently was made to free up room on the 53-man roster for Braxton Berrios, who has been serving as the team's punt returner and has been elevated from the practice squad each week. Berrios reached the maximum number of practice-squad
elevations allowed, leaving the Giants with no choice but to sign him permanently or find a new returner.
Beckham was a fan favorite among the Giants fan base during his return to the franchise, where he had the most successful stint of his career after they drafted him in 2014. Fans even chanted 'OBJ' repeatedly during the fourth quarter of the game against the Titans, despite his limited use this season.
This marked Beckham's return to the league for the first time since 2024, when he had just 54 receiving yards during an uneventful stint with the Dolphins. His future in the league is unclear, but sources report that he isn't expected to be signed to the Giants' practice squad at this time.
