Last week, Puka Nacua missed the second game of the season for the Los Angeles Rams with a hip injury. However, they didn't really need him, as they still managed a dominant win over the New York Giants. But it could be a different story for the franchise this weekend.
On Thursday, Nacua missed his second straight practice due to his hip injury, according to Adam Schefter. This came less than 24 hours after another NFL insider, Ian Rapoport, said he believed it would be a "surprise" if Nacua ended up playing this week. Earlier in the week, Rams coach Sean McVay said the franchise was erring on the side of caution with the injury, despitethat the franchise was erring on the side of caution with the injury, despite there being little belief the injury was a "long-term
threat."
For the second straight day, Rams WR Puka Nacua did not practice due to what the team is calling a hip injury.

Why the Rams need Puka Nacua against the Broncos in Week 3
It's simple enough to look at the Week 2 stats and see that the Rams won't need Nacua, given what their other top receiver put on against the Giants. But that might not be the case, and this week's matchup could make things difficult for the Rams if Nacua doesn't suit up.
Yes, Davante Adams had 10 receptions for 195 yards and two touchdowns against the Giants. But they'll face a much tougher defense this coming week against the Denver Broncos, and Adams will be matched up against Patrick Surtain II, who is one of the league's elite cornerbacks. The Rams will need a second option, and if Nacua can't play, someone else in the franchise's wide receiver room needs to step up. Right now, it's unclear who will fill that role.
