After being drafted by the Tennessee Titans as the No. 33 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft and having a brief stint as the Titans’ starting quarterback, Tennessee has cut quarterback Will Levis.

Levis was drafted with the hopes that he would become the franchise quarterback. He made his first start as a rookie in week eight against the Atlanta Falcons, where he led the Titans to a 28-23 win. That game may have been the best of his NFL career, as he recorded nearly 300 passing yards and 4 touchdowns.
In the 17 games he started for Tennessee between 2023 and 2024, he won only
five, and by the end of the 2024 season, it was clear he was not the franchise's future; the Titans drafted quarterback Cam Ward out of Miami. Ward did not have the greatest start to his career as a rookie last year, while Levis missed the entire season due to injury.
During the offseason, Tennessee signed quarterback Mitch Trubisky to be the veteran backup to Ward. There was technically a competition for the backup between Trubisky and Levis, but Trubisky won that job very quickly. Levis’ performance in training camp and the preseason did not help his case to remain on the roster, as he struggled with turnovers and poor decision-making.
He is now on the waiver wire. If no one signs him off the wire, he will become a free agent on Mon. Aug. 31 at 1 p.m. EST.
