Just a few weeks after dislocating his elbow against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 2, Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels will return in Week 5 against the New York Giants.

Washington was running out of quarterbacks after backup Marcus Mariota was injured early in their game against the Indianapolis Colts in London. He sprained his MCL, which will keep him out for a few weeks, including this game against the Giants. If Daniels couldn't play, rookie Athan Kaliakmanis would have made his first career start.
In Daniels’ career, he has won all three games against the Giants. However, a key part
of his game has been running the ball, including rushing for 68 yards in his last game against New York. But with his elbow injury requiring a brace on his left arm, Daniels likely won't be able to run the ball nearly as much.
With the Giants sitting in first place in the division and the Commanders in last, this is a crucial NFC East matchup for both teams. Washington will also be without wide receiver Stefon Diggs, although Terry McLaurin is good to go.
