With starting tight end Dallas Goedert out for the next few weeks, the Philadelphia Eagles have turned to a familiar face to take his place in the offense. The Eagles signed tight end Zach Ertz to their practice squad. He is expected to be elevated to the active roster in time for their upcoming Monday night game against the Chicago Bears.

Ertz was drafted by Philadelphia back in 2013 and was with the team until being traded to the Arizona Cardinals in 2021. He made the Pro Bowl from 2017 to 2019 during his time in Philadelphia and was also instrumental in the team’s Super Bowl win
in 2017. He also had a good stint with the Cardinals before spending 2024 and 2025 with the Washington Commanders. During the 2024 season, Ertz also received votes for Comeback Player of the Year.
Coming into this season, Ertz is already the reception leader for the Eagles among tight ends but would become the all-time leader in receptions with 11 receptions. He also currently sits at fifth all-time in receiving yards for Philadelphia. With another 198 yards, he would move into the fourth-leading receiver for the Eagles, although he would need over 1,000 yards to become the leading receiver among tight ends in franchise history.
