With Caleb Williams out with a hamstring injury and Tyson Bagent working his way through concussion protocol, Bears fans weren't likely expecting much but the bare minimum from third-string quarterback Case Keenum in a Week 3 Monday Night Football showdown with the Eagles.

So it was to the shock of Bears fans, as well as NFL fans everywhere, when Keenum not only played well enough to win against the Eagles, but looked like a starting quarterback in his prime on Monday night. Despite being in his 15th NFL season and not starting an NFL game since 2023, Keenum went 24-for-34 passing for 247 yards and three touchdowns as the Bears soundly defeated the Eagles 27-7.

How Case Keenum made history in Bears win over Eagles

By securing the victory on Monday

night for the Bears, Case Keenum did something that only one other NFL quarterback has ever achieved – winning a game for seven different franchises as a starting quarterback. With the win, Keenum has now started and won games for the Bears, Broncos, Browns, Commanders, Rams, Texans, and Vikings. Ryan Fitzpatrick is the only other quarterback in NFL history to reach that milestone.

He also became the oldest quarterback in Bears history to score a rushing touchdown, to score a passing touchdown, to account for three or more touchdowns in a game, to throw for 200 or more yards in a game, to throw and rush for a touchdown in the same game, and to throw multiple touchdown passes in a game.

"Are you kidding me? I just hugged my family, had a great week of practice with the boys, and I've enjoyed every minute of this; I really have," Keenum said when asked what it felt like to start an NFL game once again.
