On Sunday, Jahmyr Gibbs put up yet another elite performance. That's not necessarily out of the ordinary. But with this performance, he rewrote the NFL history books.
The Lions secured a dominant 45-21 win over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, and in the victory, Gibbs rushed for 151 yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries, averaging 6.0 yards per carry. That's notable because it put the fourth-year running back at 58 total career offensive touchdowns, the most by any player before turning 25.

Ironically, Gibbs surpassed another former Lions running back to reach that milestone,
as Hall of Famer Barry Sanders held the previous record of 57. Gibbs has the rest of the season to pad his record and make it difficult for any other player to ever reach, since he won't turn 25 until next March.
Gibbs now has 504 rushing yards, seven rushing touchdowns, 243 receiving yards, and two receiving touchdowns on the season. If he can maintain that level of play, those numbers put him on pace for 1,710 rushing yards, 23 rushing touchdowns, 826 receiving yards, and six receiving touchdowns through the end of the regular season, which would be career highs in all four categories.
