The Green Bay Packers will be without one of their top wide receivers, Jayden Reed, for the remainder of the season after he had season-ending neck surgery.

Before the injury, Reed had a quiet start to the season in Green Bay’s opener against the Minnesota Vikings, catching just three passes on seven targets for 20 yards. Reed also missed significant time last season after fracturing his collarbone. During his last full season without an injury back in 2024, Reed put up over 1,000 scrimmage yards and seven touchdowns.
In the Packers’ first game without Reed this season against the Atlanta Falcons, the offense could not do much of anything, and they lost
35-14 despite quarterback Jordan Love having over 300 passing yards, including 100 yards and a touchdown to Matthew Golden and 96 yards and a touchdown to Christian Watson.
Golden will be expected to step up for Green Bay throughout the rest of this season with Reed out. Skyy Moore, who spent the past four seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers, could also see an increased role as the year goes on. The Packers are currently last in their division with a 1-2 record, while everyone else in the NFC North is either 2-1 or 3-0.
