Week 2 in the NFL is a chance to bounce back from a loss in Week 1 of your fantasy football season. If you took our advice last week, you should have fared pretty well in your league. Mistakes were made here and there, but it was only Week 1. Those who disappointed are usually the players who bounce back with strong performances after a loss or a tough week, numbers-wise, like Matthew Stafford. This week? It's knowing who to trust and who to fade.
Start - Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys
Prescott will be looking for a bounce-back week against the Washington Commanders. After throwing for only 175 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and throwing an interception, he posted just 15.4 points. Look for that to be higher during Week 2. Last season, in two games
against Washington, Prescott threw for over 570 yards and 5 touchdowns.
Start - Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers will square off against the Miami Dolphins in Week 2. Does anything else really need to be said? Although this is the week the Dolphins could put together a complete performance against San Francisco, it's highly unlikely. I think Purdy will be a bit more successful with chunk plays this week, which will drive up his fantasy points.
Start - Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams
Keep in mind it was only one game, and Stafford has always been streaky. He should not be benched in favor of anyone during Week 2. The Cowboys have improved on defense, but the Rams will have a massive chip on their shoulder following a blowout loss to the Niners in Week 1. No international disruption this week.
Sit - Malik Willis, Miami Dolphins
To be honest, the Dolphins may not win four games this season. I don't expect them to get their first win against the 49ers either. Willis signed a massive deal and can keep it close with his legs, but he doesn't have the outside weapons to match up with San Francisco. That's just the facts.
Sit - Jared Goff, Detroit Lions
Goff will be outdoors in Buffalo and face heavy pressure from the Bills, who will play their first game in their new stadium. I don't believe the fans or Josh Allen will want to lose the first home game. The run game will have to win this one in Week 2.
Sit - Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers
I think that Herbert's questionable clutch antics are a mentality at this point. After a devastating and surprising loss to the Arizona Cardinals that rattled him, I do not think that a much-improved and hungry Raiders team will slack off at all. For this week only, I cannot trust him after Week 1.
