Beyond the obvious fantasy starters for tonight's opening game of the 2026 NFL season, there are plenty of potential streamers. Two in particular are "pressure-point" fantasy players who were draftable but not necessarily keepable. How they perform tonight might impact how managers restructure their rosters ahead of Week 2.
The first is Rashid Shaheed, a former undrafted free agent who broke through for the Saints before being traded to the Seahawks last November. His fantasy production went from solid to ineffective seemingly overnight in Seattle's run-friendly, Jaxon Smith-Njigba-heavy offense.
Still, Shaheed is a sneaky streamer this season with top-45 upside. He'll need to assert himself as the #2 option ahead of fading 33-year-old Cooper
Kupp, and he'll also need to hold off injured 2025 rookie Tory Horton. Both are doable, which is why Shaheed is such a fascinating fantasy option entering this season.
On the other side of the ball tonight, Romeo Doubs will make his debut for the Patriots. After operating as a hit-or-miss fantasy WR in Green Bay's packed receiving corps, Doubs should find at least a little more work in New England while operating alongside clear-cut alpha A.J. Brown.
Doubs' potential obstacles for top-45 production include DeMario Douglas and (perhaps) Mack Hollins, both of whom have capped ceilings. But both can also cut into Doubs' upside. Since this wideout corps looks a lot different compared to last year, there's plenty of chaos once we move past Brown. That makes Doubs an intriguing fantasy WR.
