The Miami Dolphins have completely reorganized their quarterback room as the NFL preseason has come to an end, and 53-man final rosters are being finalized.
It seems clear that first-year head coach Jeff Hafley was unhappy with the depth in his quarterback room after witnessing the team's preseason efforts, as the organization traded Quinn Ewers to the Jaguars on Saturday and then released both Cam Miller and Mark Gronowski on Sunday – leaving starter Malik Willis as the only quarterback on the roster.

But the roster did not exist in this state for long,
as the Dolphins had their eyes on a potential backup quarterback. And they wasted no time in making the move to secure that player.
The Dolphins made a trade with the Green Bay Packers to acquire second-year quarterback Kyle McCord. In exchange, the Dolphins are sending the Packers a 2028 sixth-round draft pick. Now, both of the top two quarterbacks in Miami's room are former Green Bay Packers.

McCord looked impressive during preseason action. During the first two games for the Packers, he went 24-for-35 for 220 yards. But he really had a breakout performance in the team's final preseason game, where he went 22-for-35 for 226 yards and four touchdowns.
