Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Keenan Allen was arrested early Sunday morning on drunken driving charges.
Allen is facing preliminary charges of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (OVWI) and endangering a person, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. Both carry misdemeanor charges.
Around 1 a.m., Allen was arrested and was being held at the Marion County Arrestee Processing Center. The police stated that they approached Allen's vehicle, which was parked in a no-parking zone, and that he showed signs of intoxication.
The Colts issued a statement on the matter, saying, "We are aware of the incident involving Keenan Allen last night. We are in the process of gathering more information and have no further comment
at this time."
On Saturday, against the Detroit Lions in the preseason finale, Allen would catch one pass for 24 yards. He joined the Colts earlier this month on a one-year deal and will enter his 14th season in the league.
Allen is also a six-time Pro Bowler, having spent his first 11 seasons with the Chargers before being traded to the Chicago Bears in 2024.
