Following a 59-37 loss to the Chicago Bears on Sunday, the Carolina Panthers have waived a wide receiver and signed a linebacker from the practice squad.

Wide receiver Jimmy Horn Jr. was waived on Tuesday by the Carolina Panthers. Horn was a sixth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Sunday, he served primarily as the Panthers' kickoff and punt returner. In the second quarter, he muffed a punt that eventually led to a Bears field goal.

Horn was waived to make room for former Miami Dolphins starting linebacker Tyrel Dodson, who was promoted from the practice squad after another team tried to sign him, a league source told ESPN. Dodson spent the past two weeks on the Panthers' practice roster after being released by the Dolphins ahead of the cut day

deadline.

The move will leave the Panthers with five active wide receivers on the roster.
