The Green Bay Packers are off to a disappointing start to their season, and starting quarterback Jordan Love was willing to get brutally honest about it on Thursday.
After a season-opening divisional loss to the Vikings and a narrow Week 2 win over the New York Jets, there were questions about whether the team had regressed from last season. But things hit a new low with a blowout, three-touchdown loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday night, who have looked like one of the worst teams in the NFL early this season. Afterward, Love did not sugarcoat his feelings about the performance of himself and his team.
"I'll say right now, looking at the game tonight, it's frustrating," Love said. "There's nothing around it, I'm frustrated. Like I said,
I look back at what I can do better as the quarterback of this team, as a leader of this team. But to start the season, it's not great. I'll say that."

Love ended that quote from above on an optimistic note, saying that "it's only up from here" and that the team would get "back to the drawing board" and figure out how to get back to winning as they move forward. But after three weeks, there is plenty of cause for concern regarding the Packers.
Dating back to last season, head coach Matt LaFleur is 1-7 in his last eight outings. The Packers entered Thursday night's game against the Falcons last in the league in offensive success rate, rushing yards, third-down conversions, and completion percentage, while leading the NFL in penalties and dropped receptions.

And things didn't look any better on Thursday night. Love passed for 312 yards, but went just 28-for-53, just a 52.8% completion percentage. The Packers rushed for a dismal 17 yards in the loss, and went just 6-for-15 on third down and 2-for-4 in the red zone. Not exactly a recipe for success.
"Well, that was a humbling night," LaFleur said after the loss. "Certainly, I don't think anybody is pleased about this. We've got a couple extra days here, and everybody has to take a long, hard look at ourselves."
