Wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is still trying to make his NFL comeback. After the New York Giants cut him last week, the Minnesota Vikings signed him to their practice squad.

The Giants originally drafted Beckham Jr. No. 12 overall in 2014. During his first stint with them from 2014 to 2018, he had 390 catches for 5,476 yards, which is the second-most in franchise history and 44 touchdowns, which is the fourth-most in franchise history. He was named to the Pro Bowl three consecutive years from 2014 to 2016, won the Offensive Rookie of the Year, and was a second-team All-Pro in 2015 and 2016.
After the 2018 season, the Giants traded Beckham Jr.
to the Cleveland Browns for a first-round pick, which they used to draft Dexter Lawrence, whom they later traded away, along with a third-round pick and safety Jabrill Peppers. Cleveland traded him to the Los Angeles Rams midway through the 2021 season, who released him at the end of the year after a devastating injury in the Super Bowl.
In 2022, he wasn't signed by any team but was picked up by the Baltimore Ravens in 2023 and played14 games for them. He played nine more games for the Miami Dolphins in 2024 and was without a team in 2025. During training camp, Beckham Jr. worked out for the Giants and made the active roster. However, he played only 11 percent of offensive snaps and was targeted once before being released.
Minnesota has its own receiver concerns. All-Pro Justin Jefferson missed last week with an ankle injury, and his status for Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints remains unclear. Jordan Addison was also on the injury report this week with a hamstring injury. If both receivers can't go, Beckham could be elevated to the active roster.
