The Green Bay Packers are headed into a massive NFC North rivalry showdown with the Detroit Lions this week, and one of their star offensive weapons will return for the first time this season.
It was reported on Saturday that the Packers had activated running back Josh Jacobs off the commissioner's exempt list after the NFL removed him from the list earlier this week. He missed the first six games of the season because of his placement on the list, and he is expected to debut against the Lions.

Josh Jacobs should provide significant help for Packers in run game in his season debut
Jacobs has been on the list after pleading no contest following
an arrest earlier this year on misdemeanor battery and misdemeanor destruction of property charges. Jacobs is still under investigation for potential violations of the NFL's personal conduct policy due to the incident and could still receive a suspension equal to or greater than the number of games he's already missed, though those six games would count toward any suspension. For now, he's cleared to play.
Jacobs ranked eighth in the league in rushing yards and fourth in rushing touchdowns over the last two seasons combined, but without him in the rotation, the Packers rank dead last in the NFL in rushing yards per game this year, averaging just 59.8. He should provide a massive boost to the team's run offense in a crucial divisional clash.
