The Los Angeles Rams have dealt with a lot of injuries on both sides of the ball, but this may be the biggest blow yet. Cornerback Jaylen Watson will need season-ending shoulder surgery after re-aggravating a right shoulder injury against the Los Angeles Chargers.
#Rams CB Jaylen Watson is expected to have shoulder surgery that will end his 2026 season, coach Sean McVay said.

Watson was one of the biggest free-agent signings this offseason as the Rams gave him a three-year, $51 million contract. He was expected to bolster the Rams’ defense as they went all-in on winning the Super Bowl.
Their offseason defensive
additions also included trading for cornerback Trent McDuffie, trading for future Hall of Famer Myles Garrett, and Aaron Donald coming out of retirement. Garrett still has not played since the season opener, while McDuffie is dealing with a back injury. The trades for McDuffie and Garrett cost them seven total draft picks, including two first-round picks, as well as former first-round defensive end Jared Verse.
Los Angeles beat the Las Vegas Raiders and Chargers in their last two games. They are looking to keep the win streak going against the Washington Commanders before facing the Arizona Cardinals again, who defeated them earlier in the year.
