The Philadelphia Eagles are heading to London to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars, but they face significant injuries, including star running back Saquon Barkley and top receiver DeVonta Smith, both ruled out with hamstring injuries.

Philadelphia has also ruled out three other players: receiver Hollywood Brown (ankle), safety Marcus Epps (groin), and offensive lineman Drew Kendall (knee). Defensive lineman Jonathan Greenard is also questionable with an ankle injury. The Eagles also have 11 players on injured reserve, including their backup running back, Tank Bigsby.
With Barkley and Bigsby not available, the Eagles will have to rely on Will Shipley and Dameon Pierce,
whom they just picked up this week. Philadelphia drafted Shipley in 2024, but he has only 59 rushing attempts in his career. Shipley also has yet to score a regular-season touchdown in the NFL.
Pierce played only five games last season: four with the Houston Texans and one with the Kansas City Chiefs. He spent training camp on Philadelphia’s roster before being cut as the team finalized its initial 53-man roster. If Pierce gets the start, it would be his first since 2023; if Shipley starts, it would be his first since 2024.
