Two weeks of the NFL season are now complete, and we're all starting to see the strengths and the weaknesses on our fantasy rosters. But there's still plenty of football left to play, and if you have a gap at wide receiver, finding the right starter could help you make up ground quickly. Here are the wide receivers you should start and the ones you should sit in Week 3.
Start Em'
Michael Wilson, Arizona Cardinals: Wilson has 42.2 fantasy points on 30 targets over the past two weeks, recording 184 receiving yards and one touchdown during that stretch. This week, he'll face the Lions, who are allowing the second-most fantasy points to wide receivers this season, and have allowed the four wide receivers who saw seven or more targets against them to average
30 fantasy points per game.
Malik Nabers, New York Giants: We listed Nabers as a starter last week, and it paid off with a 23.2 fantasy-point performance. Sometimes it's smart to ride the hot hand, and Nabers has another favorable matchup against the Commanders. They've already allowed two wide receivers to score more than 35 fantasy points against them this season, and are allowing the fourth-most fantasy points to wide receivers.
Jameson Williams, Detroit Lions: This is a matchup where you can play either side of the game, and you're likely to find success. Williams has been quiet this year, but recorded a 16.2 fantasy-point performance last week after hauling in six receptions for 102 yards. And the Cardinals aren't much better against the pass than the Lions – they've allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to wide receivers this season.
Sit Em'
Josh Downs, Indianapolis Colts: We recommended Downs as a starter the past two weeks; it paid off the first time, but not last week, when he scored just 4.6 fantasy points. This week, we're sending him back to the bench, as he faces a Steelers defense that has allowed the fifth-fewest fantasy points to wide receivers this season.
Courtland Sutton, Denver Broncos: Sutton has performed extremely poorly this season – he's averaging just 4.4 fantasy points per game and hasn't had more than three catches in a single game this year. Many expect the former Pro Bowler to rebound from his slow start, but this week's game against the Chargers looks like a slow, low-scoring affair.
DK Metcalf, Pittsburgh Steelers: Metcalf had a strong showing last week, posting 16.5 fantasy points on 115 yards. That will inspire a lot of people to put the star wide receiver back in their lineup, but this week he faces the Colts, who have allowed only one receiver to beat them for more than 13 fantasy points. We're keeping him sidelined for another week.
