After being hospitalized on Sunday following a neck injury against the Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Lions linebacker Jack Campbell released an official statement, providing a positive update on his health.
Jack Campbell: “I have full movement in my lower body, and I’m continuing to make progress with movement in my upper body. I know there’s still work ahead, but I remain very optimistic. I’m taking things one day at a time, staying positive, and focusing on getting better.” https://t.co/I2Aav4krbx

Campbell stated in part, “I have full movement in my lower body, and I’m continuing to make progress with movement in my upper body. I know there’s still work ahead, but I remain very optimistic.” This was the first time movement in any extremities has
been mentioned since his injury.
He also thanked the medical staff at Henry Ford Hospital, the Lions training staff, and the entire organization for their support, saying in part, “This team is a family to me, and the way everyone has been there for me means everything. I’m proud to be a Detroit Lion and couldn’t ask to be surrounded by a better group of people.”
Before his injury, Campbell was a key piece of Detroit’s defense, playing nearly 100 percent of defensive snaps in each of the past three seasons. With this injury, he will almost certainly miss the rest of the season, though his future in the NFL remains unclear, as the focus right now is on his health and recovery so he can function fully in daily life.
Detroit won their game against Minnesota, becoming the first team to beat the Vikings. They will face the Miami Dolphins this Sunday.
