Week 3 of the NFL season featured 12 one-score games, tying the record for any single week. Looking at the power rankings heading into Week 4, things may look a little different. The Jaguars are rolling, the Vikings and Raiders are undefeated, but how long will that last? The New England Patriots and Drake Maye are slipping fast. This week's number one may not change, but it definitely gets interesting after that. Let's take a look.
Number 1: Buffalo Bills (3-0) - Week 3 Ranking: 1
The Bills have started 3-0 in five of the last eight seasons. The Bills are finding ways to put together complete games, led by Josh Allen. Although they struggled in some areas early, James Cook and the run game will keep rolling, and tight end Dalton Kincaid has been
huge out of the gate.
Number 2: San Francisco 49ers (3-0) - Week 3 Ranking: 3
Once again, the 49ers have weathered the usual storm of injuries on both sides of the ball. George Kittle has come back from a torn Achilles and looks like he never missed a beat. The Brock Purdy MVP talk has started, and although he beat a very good Rams team, his other two wins came against the league's worst defenses, so let's hold off on that for now.
Number 3: Kansas City Chiefs (3-0) - Week 3 Ranking: 5
Are the Chiefs back? Maybe not all the way back, but as long as Patrick Mahomes is breathing, they have a shot at making a deep run to the Super Bowl. Newly signed Kenneth Walker has been huge for them, more so than some thought he would be. They are once again in the thick of things.
Number 4: Seattle Seahawks (2-1) - Week 3 Ranking: 2
The Seattle Seahawks are coming off a loss to the Washington Commanders, with backup quarterback Marcus Mariota posting a 110.0 passer rating against them. They will look for more production from the receiving corps and Jaxon Smith-Njigba, but until they get it, they may head toward the middle of the pack on offense.
Number 5: Minnesota Vikings (3-0) - Week 3 Ranking: 10
If we're being honest, the Vikings have only moved past the Rams, Eagles, Broncos, etc., because of their records heading into Week 4. Don't get me wrong, it is impressive, and Brian Flores is once again dialing up defensive pressure to confuse opposing offenses. On offense, Justin Jefferson should be back at full health after suffering an ankle injury during Week 3. Can the Vikings stay atop the rankings for Week 5? We shall see.
Number 6: Baltimore Ravens (2-1)
Number 7: Denver Broncos (2-1)
Number 8: Philadelphia Eagles (2-1)
Number 9: Jacksonville Jaguars (2-1)
Number 10: Chicago Bears (2-1)
Number 11: Los Angeles Rams (1-2)
Number 12: Cincinnati Bengals (2-1)
Number 13: Las Vegas Raiders (3-0)
Number 14: Detroit Lions (2-1)
Number 15: New England Patriots (1-2)
Number 16: Dallas Cowboys (1-2)
Number 17: Pittsburgh Steelers (2-1)
Number 18: New Orleans Saints (1-2)
Number 19: New York Giants (2-1)
Number 20: Green Bay Packers (1-2)
Number 21: Carolina Panthers (1-2)
Number 22: Cleveland Browns (2-1)
Number 23: Indianapolis Colts (1-2)
Number 24: New York Jets (1-2)
Number 25: Houston Texans (0-3)
Number 26: Atlanta Falcons (1-2)
Number 27: Washington Commanders (1-2)
Number 28: Los Angeles Chargers (0-3)
Number 29: Arizona Cardinals (1-2)
Number 30: Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-3)
Number 31: Tennessee Titans (0-3)
Number 32: Miami Dolphins (0-3)
