Could the Los Angeles Clippers
convince the Boston Celtics to trade their 2028 first round draft pick back to them? In the wake of the brutal hammer the NBA brought down on team owner Steve Ballmer, several executives, Kawhi Leonard, his uncle Dennis Robertson, and the rest of the Clippers organization for their plot to circumvent the league salary cap rules, the franchise will have a serious dearth of draft assets. To that end, there has been some curiosity in some corners of whether there might be a way for Los Angeles to convince Boston President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens to part ways with a draft asset with complicated protections that could further erode the Clippers' minuscule war chest.
Cohost of the "How Bout Them Celtics!"
podcast, Sam LaFrance, took some time on a recent episode of the show to talk it over with friend of the pod Nik Land. Check it out below!
