Bosnia and Herzegovina lost to Lithuania in FIBA EuroBasket play on Monday (August 31) despite the best game of backup Boston Celtics big man Luka Garza in FIBA play this summer. Played in Lithuania's Vilnius Arena in the Lithuanian capital of the same name, Bosnian and Herzegovinian National Team fell to the Lithuanian National Team 78-73 despite 14 points and 7 rebounds from Garza.
The Celtics center shot 5-of-10 from the field overall in the defeat, going 2-of-4 from beyond the arc and a perfect 2-of-2 from the free throw line in a little more than 17 minutes of game time. A strong third quarter from Lithuania helped put the game away for the home team.
With the loss, the Bosnian and Herzegovinian National Team falls to 3-5 in FIBA play this
summer, unlikely to advance to the next stage.
Bosnia and Herzegovina will next take on the Icelandic National Team at a venue and tip time yet to be determined on Nov. 26, 2026.
They will do so without the services of Garza, the big man set to suit up for the Celtics in the 2026-27 NBA regular season by that point.
