The return of Jaylen Brown to face the Boston Celtics for the first time since he was dealt to the Philadelphia 76ers won't hit quite the way that it ought to with most of Boston's best players slated to rest for the preseason tilt between the two Atlantic Division ball clubs set to go down this Saturday (Oct. 10) evening. But that does not mean that the Georgia native has not been thinking about how weird it is going to be just the same.
"We're about to preseason play the Celtics (…)," said Brown in one of the candid livestreamsthat may have played at least a minor role in his departure from Boston. The new Sixers star referred to the preseason return to Boston as an "interesting dynamic," downplaying the seriousness of it by suggesting such
outcomes are "just life."
"It's like running into your ex out in public," said Brown wryly. "(It's) like (expletive), we used to go together, you feel me?"
"Then you just look at them and (it's) just like dang, and you've just got to go about your business," said the former Celtics star. "You feel me? It's facts though. It's like (expletive), you know what I mean? So, it is what it is, man. But I'm super excited."
As awkward as it may turn out to be, we're pretty stoked to have him back in Boston, even if the uniform he'll be wearing may be a bit triggering to a lot of us.
