Baylor Scheierman has looked fantastic as the Boston Celtics begin their preseason. He's flashed high-level upside as an on-ball creator, played solid defense, hit his shots, and worked well off the ball. Entering his third season in the NBA, Scheierman could be gearing up for a breakout year.
Minutes are up for grabs in Joe Mazzulla's rotation, and Payton Pritchard could earn a starting spot next to Derrick White if the coaching staff decides he's best coming off the bench. As such, Scheierman could be given an opportunity to cement a larger role for himself at the start of the season, either as a starter or part of the primary bench rotation.
During a recent video from the 'Cattles On Causeway' podcast, host Nick Cattles discussed Scheierman's
upcoming season, his chances of a breakout year, and how his skill set can help the Celtics as they continue adjusting to life without Jaylen Brown on the roster. Cattles also discussed what impact Joe Mazzulla could have on Scheierman's continued development, and how he could potentially fit next to White, Jayson Tatum, and Paul George within the starting five.
