Perhaps more than any of the Boston Celtics' other rising young wings, Baylor Scheierman is seen as the most likely to have a big season with the Celtics in 2026-27. And the Creighton alum has been putting in the work behind the scenes to get himself in position to best take advantage of the considerable opportunity in front of him, as he recently related in an exclusive interviewwith "Locked On Celtics" host John Karalis. "I think it just comes with the preparation," said Scheierman when asked how he plans to leverage his on-court opportunity,
"I think it's really about attacking every single day and with whatever opportunity you get, of making the most of it," he continued. "I think last year it was the same thing; you start the year not really knowing
what's going to happen and you get a little opportunity here."
"You try to make the most of it and with that more opportunity comes," said Scheierman, "and so whatever opportunity I'm given, I have the most confidence in myself that I'll be able to impact the game in whatever way."
One of the team's newest members (and it's oldest) has noticed that prep work that the Nebraska native has been putting in this offseason – veteran guard Mike Conley. "It means a lot (…)," said th Celtics wing. "He's been in the NBA for 20 years, accomplished some great things."
"And so to have kind of that respect from him already so early on, it means a lot. And I'm just grateful for him and his mentorship and continuing to learn from him and some of the other new guys as well."
