Luka Garza has been putting in the work in Boston Celtics training camp this offseason, making use of the team's camp at the Citadel Military Academy in Charleston, South Carolina to hone his craft ahead of an important campaign with Boston. But unlike fellow frontcourt player Neemias Queta, Garza is sharpening skills he already has a baseline with rather than adding new elements to his game.
"I tried to work on everything this summer," he explainedvia CLNS Media. "Focusing on my 3-point shooting, continuing to expand that as much as I can, figuring out my reads at the rim, becoming a better passer in the pocket, and defensively continuing to grow and be better in space and using my hands, all those types of things."
"So, there's always individual
things that I'm working on," said the Celtics center. "But I think especially since last year, I understand what my role is."
"It makes it a lot easier going into the game and I can continue to expand off that and focus on the things that I do well and what helps this team screen in, offensive rebound, do those things," said Garza.
"That's what they value here and that's what I'm going to show up and do every night."
