In the wake of reports hinting that the league may only offer Los Angeles Clippers lead Governor Steve Ballmer a slap on the wrist for the whole Kawhi Leonard - Aspiration scandal (if they punish the Clippers front office at all), concern is growing that the Association is starting to give up on holding team owners (or at least very wealthy ones) accountable to the rules of the NBA.
Add in the admission of owners like Portland Trail Blazers head honcho Tom Dundon making waves for how cheap he is being with one of the NBA's more beloved franchises and the proliferation of private equity and sovereign wealth funds getting into team ownership, and an issue that could directly affect the Boston Celtics
on several levels becomes a pressing one.
