What is the story about?

The Boston Celtics have reportedly signed Hayden Gray to a deal, according to recent reportingfrom HoopsHype senior contributor Mike Scotto. The 6-foot-4 guard has previously played for the Celtics at the NBA's 2025 Las Vegas Summer League with the Sin City Celtics, and also with the Maine Celtics before landing with the Utah Jazz at the end of the 2025-26 regular season.

While no details about the contract were shared by Scotto, the signing is all but certain to be an Exhibit 10 training camp deal that will see the University of California - San Diego standout compete for a two way spot with Boston, with the potential to use his preseason showcase to get a contract in another league should that not work out, or perhaps another stint in Maine.

The 23-year-old appeared in a single game with the Jazz last season, logging 6 points, an assist, a block, and a steal, but also logged 9.9 points, 2.8 rebounds, 5.8 assists, and 2.0 steals per game with Maine at the G League level in 2025-26.
