The NBA is on pause for Election Day 2026, but the Boston Celtics will return to action on Wednesday night when they host the Milwaukee Bucks at TD Garden. The 5-2 C’s are fresh off a 109-93 loss to the Houston Rockets and are hoping to bounce back against the struggling Bucks, who are an abysmal 1-6 to start the 2026-27 campaign.
Since the Bucks are a struggling, new-look squad, the Celtics might use their home game against them as a time to squeeze in some rest. Celtics star Jayson Tatum is listed as questionable due to rest and point guard Payton Pritchard shares the same status because of a right shoulder contusion. Boston won’t have many opportunities to take it easy in November, as it has just four contests in Beantown this month to go
along with four (yes, four) back-to-back sets of games — three of which are on the road. With all this in mind, perhaps the Celtics rest a starter or two versus the Bucks. However, that’ll make Wednesday tougher, especially in an Eastern Conference where “easy” victories seem to be few and far between.

Records, standing, and streaks
The Celtics are 5-2 after falling to the Western Conference-leading Houston Rockets on Monday evening. They’re still undefeated at TD Garden and reside in third place in the Eastern Conference.

As for the Bucks, they’re on a three-game losing streak and are at the bottom of the East with a 1-6 record.
Player injuries
The Celtics posted their largest injury report of the season thus far. Star forward Jayson Tatum (rest) and point guard Payton Pritchard (right shoulder contusion) are listed as questionable while guard Devin Carter (illness) is out once again.
Meanwhile, the Bucks have yet to submit an injury report.
