Since the start of the 2025-26 NBA season, Boston Celtics big man Neemias Queta has grown his game in leaps and bounds, going from a player nearly out of the league to one of the better centers in the Association. But that growth has not been happening in a vacuum, with the Portuguese big benefiting in a major way from the chemistry he has been forging with his teammates.
"I think it’s a natural thing," said Queta after Boston's 114-93 preseason blowout of the Charlotte Hornets. "Being over here for, about to be here for 4 (years), getting to understand how to play with these guys more, and figuring out how to maximize those guys’ strengths and maximizing them so I can use my strengths as well. It’s been growing pains that we’ve been over them in the past,
and I think it’s only gotten better over time, and I think it’s only going to keep getting better."
"So (I) just keep on trusting it, and definitely the level of comfortability is there," he added. "So just feel more comfortable in general in all facets of the game."
One player in particular stood out in terms of chemistry in that Hornets beatdown, and despite being one of the Celtics' most recent arrivals. "(We have) a lot of presence in the paint on both sides, length, ability of covering ground, rebounding, and I think we can be really good together," said Queta.
"It’s just edging those growing veins, which will take time, and I’m fully confident that we’ll be able to figure it out."
