Was there anything to the analytics that came up in the midst of the Boston Celtics Jaylen Brown trade saga? After a decontextualized (and to be fair, poorly framed) comment from a highly respected salary cap analyst, it seems likely that whatever complaints floating around about how analytics see the Georgia native were at best taken out of context, and more likely were used to take a swipe at Brown.
But at the root of all of it, there may actually be something to those analytics, especially if the Celtics were leaning on them when they made the decision to move the Cal alum to the Philadelphia 76ers.
