Too often for the fans of the Boston Celtics, a big lead gets built up in the first half of a game, only to see it wither on the vine in the second, the team falling to an otherwise inferior foe. But that did not happen in the Celtics' 109-102 win vs. the Milwaukee Bucks at TD Garden on Wednesday (Nov. 4) evening.
Instead, the Celtics found a way to survive a red-hot Bucks squad on a night Boston struggled to get their offense going in the game's third quarter. "I think they started making a lot of shots up to pressure," said Boston point guard Derrick White of how the Celtics weathered that particular storm. "The ball pressure was high, but then they were also in that deep drop with the bigs, so it was in between of do you want to shoot that runner
every time down the court, or do you want to work it around."
"And they were top-locking, so they changed that a little bit and caught us on our heels to start," added the Colorado native.
"I think down the stretch, a lot of guys made big plays," continued White. "(Paul George) hit a big shot. Baylor (Scheierman), big rebounds."
"Neemi (Queta) protecting the paint (and) rebounding; Sam (Hauser) was a little bit everywhere, so (we) just found a way, made big plays, and found a way to get a win."
