Boston Celtics two way big man Amari Williams helped the British National Team beat the Swiss National Team 110-75 in FIBA 2029 EuroBasket pre-qualifying play, chipping in 8 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists as the team's starting center in just under 19 minutes of floor time for Great Britain. The University of Kentucky alum shot 4-of-7 from the floor overall, missed both of his 2 attempts from the free throw line, and in keeping with his usual style of putting up points in the NBA, did not attempt any shots from beyond the arc in the win.
Guard Joshua Uduje led the British National Team with 24 points, and fellow NBAer and Great Britain teammate Tosan Evbuomwan added another 21 points off the bench in the Group E victory.
With the victory, the British
National Team improves to 1-0 in FIBA play so far this summer, this tilt the first of several for Williams and company in the European field of prequalifiers.
The Celtics center and Great Britain will next take on the Slovakian National Team at Great Britain's Vertu Arena in Newcastle upon Tyne on this coming Sunday, August 30.
