Fans of the Boston Celtics may not have thought about the fact that they will be facing Jaylen Brown and the Philadelphia 76ers in preseason action as soon as this October 10. But Brown recently admitted that he still was unsure how that return to Boston might hit him when it finally rolls around.
Speaking at the Sixers' Media Day as a member of the team for the first time on Monday (Sep. 28), Brown related that he was still "taking it one day at a time" despite the fact that "things happen in this league – it's a business."
"They have analytics and whatnot that they go by but I think what I value about this game is the human connection, to be able to bring people together, to be able to uplift your community, inspire people," he added. "What
I'm always preach is that athletes are more than just line items or stats on the sheet."
"And I think a large part of our game and how we measure stuff is being determined in that manner," said Brown. "I preach the human connection, like how you uplift the community, how you bring people together."
"And the players are influencers or arbiters of that, and that's what I like to use my platform for. I think we're getting away from that."
