The Boston Celtics will play host to the Charlotte Hornets at TD Garden for their third of four preseason tilts set to go down this Wednesday (Oct. 14) night. In it, the Celtics will be looking to keep their preseason record undefeated while they continue to work out some kinks ahead of to their 2026-27 NBA regular season campaign set to kick off next Tuesday (Oct. 20) night.
The Hornets are in the midst of reshaping their roster under the tutelage of former Celtics assistant (and current Charlotte head coach) Charles Lee, and will be looking to stay in the win column as well after beating the Milwaukee Bucks in preseason play earlier this week. We expect a Celtics win, but given the nature of preseason play, we could see any of Boston's players
on the court -- and almost any outcome can result as such.
Records, standing, and streaks
At present, the Celtics have a 2-0 record in preseason play after their blowout of the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday night.
The Hornets are the owners of a 1-1 record with that aforementioned victory over the Bucks on Sunday evening.
Player injuries
For Boston, Luka Garza (nose), Ron Harper Jr. (shoulder), and Devin Carter (illness) are listed as game-time decisions.
For Charlotte, Kon Kneuppel (hamstring), Coby White (calf), Grayson Allen (knee), Kylan Boswell (knee), and Christian Anderson (ankle) are listed as game-time decisions.
