It might come as a surprise to critics of the moves made by President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens this offseason, but Boston Celtics point Derrick White has high expectations for what his team can do this season. Speaking to team reporter Marc D'Amico in a recent interview
, White said that "I think there's so many different ways for us to win, and so many different guys that can step up.""And the exciting thing is you never really know whose night it's going to be," he continued. "(Jayson Tatum) and (Paul George), most nights are going to be their night. But you never know throughout the whole season whose night it's going to be."
"We've got a roster where you can put anybody out there," said White, "and we expect them to (maintain)
the standard that we set and (I've) got a lot of faith and confidence in everybody in this roster."
Asked what the most "eye-opening" moment of training camp has been so far, the Celtics floor general said, "I think it's been great to see the development of everybody (...)."
"They had a great summer, and to come back and see how hard people are working, how hard you're playing and how much they've improved over the summer has been the greatest thing. And it's from top to bottom, (the) different ways that people are more comfortable, more sure of themselves – and It's been fun to see."
