The Boston Celtics defended aggressively and on a string in their 108-97 road won against the Orlando Magic, and Magic head coach Sean Sweeney let it be known that the sting of the Celtics defense stood out to him as a major contributing factor to Orlando losing the contest while speaking to the media postgame. "I thought down the stretch, there were a few times that we attacked and did a good job of getting to the paint and then didn't quite have a couple of outcomes that we would have liked to have seen," said Sweeney. "And then defensively, they had a couple tough shots made by (Jayson) Tatum."
"Obviously, he had a very nice game," said the Orlando coach. "Got to the line 17 times, fouled them twice or three times on jump shots, and then a couple
offensive rebound 3s for them down the stretch ... We were right there. We just needed a couple more plays to go our way."
"It's definitely a combination of things," continued Sweeney. "I think when you see that crowd, being able to make that right play to your teammate, is really important."
"And credit them, they force turnovers," he added. "They're aggressive to go for steals. There's a number of times where you have to be really strong with the ball and then play through contact when you do get it."
"And we can do a better job of that. Love the aggressiveness, but both halves, I thought we could have been better with the basketball there and taken care of it."
