Fans of the Boston Celtics might not be too thrilled they will not see their favorite ball club face off with the Philadelphia 76ers on Opening Night or Christmas Day after the Jaylen Brown trade. But the other major figure who helped precipitate the Georgia native' trade to the Sixers is quite happy to be facing off against the Celtics on Christmas as the Miami Heat's big offseason addition.
We are of course talking about star Heat forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, who recently opened up on the NBA's schedule release, specifically his tilt with Boston. "Oh, that's going to be fun," said the Greek Freak. "That's going to be fun."
"And I haven't played the (Christmas Day) game for a while now, NBA," griped Giannis jokingly while playing to the camera.
"Come on now."
"So, I'm just excited just to like give fans a little bit of excitement on the (next) Christmas Day," continued Antetokounmpo. "I'm not going to lie, I also enjoy being at home with my kids during Christmas."
"But there's nothing better than like a little kid opening his gift and then turning on the TV and watching NBA games. So, I'm excited for that and going to put on a show and I'm going to get a win, too." The Celtics might have something to say about that, but this is why we play the games, after all.
