It is not just Boston Celtics big man Neemias Queta who has been breathing easier after signing a contract extension this summer among the Celtics youth movement. Forward Jordan Walsh also got a financial vote of confidence from Boston President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens earlier in the 2026 NBA offseason as well, to the tune of three years and a total of $15 million fresh on the heels of the team picking up the team option on the last season of his rookie deal.
"It was great," said Walsh of the extension in a recent interviewwith NBC Sports Boston reporter Chis Forsberg. "I think it's perfect for me at the moment. I feel like ... it does give a level of security, and a level of belief that the ...organization has for me."
"So I think
it's a big step," he added. "I think it will propel my growth to a different level, because now I'm here with the Celtics ... Now it feels like – not that it didn't feel real before, but now it feels more real – more secure, more like I'm in it, you know? And so I think that's the greatest peace of mind that it gave me; that's the biggest thing."

"I think it's a new starting point, checkpoint for my career," Walsh added. "I think that the first three years of my career was trying to prove that I could play in the league. And I think that I've proven that I can play in the league and I'm an NBA player."
"Now it's about getting better at the areas that I'm weak so that I can continue to get better and earn more and produce more, those types of things."
