On Tuesday, September 15, the Boston Celtics held an introductory news conference for both Paul George and Mike Conley. Unfortunately, Mitchell Robinson couldn't attend due to personal reasons. Throughout the news conference, George and Conley answered a range of questions, with the primary throughline being that Boston's culture and desire to win have both veterans pumped for the start of the new season.
George spoke about his recent injuries and how his body is finally feeling free of the constraints they have placed on him. Conley appeared genuinely excited to experience life as a member of the Boston Celtics, and as a player learning from, and working with, head coach Joe Mazzulla.
Shortly after the news conference wrapped up, Adam Taylor
of the 'Celtics Chronicle' podcast was joined by co-host Mike Weber. The duo discussed their thoughts and takeaways from Boston's news conference. They noted that a healthy George could be similar to the version we saw during his final season with the LA Clippers, in which he was named to an All-Star team. Furthermore, the duo also shared their opinion that Conley will help plug some of the locker room void left behind by Al Horford's departure last summer.
