According to the Boston Celtics, the team might be without one of their key big men for their first rematch with the Milwaukee Bucks of the 2026-27 NBA regular season. The team announced that former New York Knicks center Mitchell Robinson is listed as questionable for the Sunday night road game with an unnamed illness.
Robinson has had a rough start to his tenure with the Celtics, the more complex role expected of Boston big men not meshing well with the limited conditioning the Louisiana native has managed to put together after a short offseason and crash course in Celtics basketball.
However, in recent games, Robinson has started to find some footing with his new ball club, looking a little more hale and better at being where he supposed to be,
so the Celtics would feel his absence against a stouter frontcourt than Milwaukee's.
So far this season, Robinson has averaged 5.8 points and 5.5 rebounds per game, trending toward his recent career averages.
If the Western Kentucky alum is out for the contest, it is unclear when he would return, but given the illness designation, it might not be a long absence.
