The Boston Celtics are now 2-0 in their preseason preparations. On Saturday, October 10, Joe Mazzulla's team dominated a short-handed Philadelphia 76ers roster. Paul George shone on defense, ending the night with five steals and six deflections, while Baylor Scheierman led the Celtics in both assists (eight) and defensive stops (six).
Furthermore, the Celtics played at a high pace throughout the night, leaning on pitch-ahead passes to catch the Sixers' defense in rotation, and pushing the tempo whenever possible. The result was a stream of high-quality shot attempts, allowing the Celtics to secure a 144-106 victory while converting at a 45.8% clip from three-point range.
Following Boston's latest win, Adam Taylor and Mike Weber of 'The Celtics
Chronicle' podcast discussed the level of buy-in on display from the Celtics roster. The duo also discussed the impact of both Scheierman and Hugo Gonzalez off the bench, and what Boston's second-unit rotation could look like next season.
